Wayne State Advances to Quarters

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.–The undefeated (8-0) doubles team of Natalya Natyshak and Leila Armin are proving their second-seed ranking by storming through the first two rounds with scores of 8-1 and 8-2 into the quarterfinals of the Omni Hotels Great Lakes Region Championships, hosted by the University of Indianapolis.

Natyshak, ranked second in singles play, was the lone Warrior to win a singles match on day one. Natyshak won her first match over Ferris State’s Elena Blackman 6-2, 6-1. In the second round, the junior defeated Jessica Brodus of Indianapolis to improve her overall singles record to 11-1.

Tournament play continues Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5-6.
