Three Warriors Earn All-GLIAC Honors

Three Wayne State University women's tennis players received conference honors at the conclusion of the league tournament this past weekend (Oct. 25-26).

Junior Natalya Natyshak (Windsor, Ont./Vincent Massey S.S.) earned First Team All-GLIAC accolades, while senior Simona Iacoban (Dearborn Hts., Mich./Annapolis) was named to the All-GLIAC Second Team. Freshman Leila Armin (Troy, Mich./Troy Athens) was selected Honorable Mention All-GLIAC.


Wayne State Claims Fifth Place In GLIAC

The Wayne State University women's tennis team finished fifth at the 2002 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament after a 5-1 victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday (Oct. 26).

Recording wins against MC were the first doubles team of Natalya Natyshak and Leila Armin (9-7), the third doubles team of Anna Hume and Jackie Johnstone (8-3), Armin at second singles (6-4, 7-5), Simona Iacoban at fourth singles (6-2, 6-4) and Monica Cushard at sixth singles (6-1, 7-6).
