Wayne State Tied For 12th
At NCAA Championships

Wayne State University finished tied for 12th (with Northwestern University) among all Division I and II schools competing in fencing and first among Division II institutions with a combined (men's and women's) 56 points.

Warriors In 11th Place
Following Women's Finals

Two Wayne State women's fencers finished competition at the NCAA Championships on Friday at Drew University in Madison, N.J. Senior Inga Wallrabenstein (Osnabrueck, Germany) placed sixth overall in the foil, while freshman Anna Vinnikov (Ma'alot, Israel) finished 13th in the epee.

With their finishes, the Warriors stand in 11th place
overall in the team standings with the men's competition set to begin on Saturday. Final team standings are determined by points earned by both the men's and women's squads combined.

Wayne State Begins Competition
At NCAA Championships

After the opening day of the 2002 NCAA Fencing Championships, the Wayne State University women's team sits in 11th place (first among Division II schools).

The first four rounds were held on Thursday (March 21), while the final three rounds will take place on Friday.

Senior Inga Wallrabenstein (Osnabrueck, Germany) is in third place in the women's foil competition, while freshman Anna Vinnikov (Ma'alot, Israel) is in 10th place heading into Friday's final three rounds.
