Wayne State Ranked No. 3
in Latest NCAA Regional Poll

Detroit, Mich. – The Wayne State softball team (23-13 overall, 10-2 GLIAC) is ranked No. 3 in the latest NCAA Regional Poll, which was released on April 17. The top six teams in the poll advance to the NCAA Regionals, which are held at campus sites on May 11-12. The NCAA Championship Tournament will be held on May 16-20 in Salem, Virginia.

The Warriors, who are in the Great Lakes Region, trail first place Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and second place Northern Kentucky. Following WSU is Southern Indiana (#4), West Virginia Wesleyan (#5), Grand Valley (#6), Gannon (#7), West Liberty State (#8), Lewis (#9) and West Virginia State (#10).

The Warriors will compete in the GLIAC vs. GLVC Showdown on April 19-21 in South Bend, Ind. WSU will face SIU-Edwardsville (No. 1 in region), Northern Kentucky (No. 2) and Lewis (No. 9) in the tournament.
