- Wayne State ended the 2002 season with a pair of losses to West Virginia Wesleyan (4-3) and SIU-Edwardsville (1-0) at the NCAA Regionals on May 9. WSU finished with a 31-19 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the conference.
Kelly Kashmerick

- Senior Kelly Kashmerick ends her four-year career as Wayne State's leader in hits, runs, total bases and doubles. Kashmerick hit her 18th double of the season against Ferris State at the GLIAC Tournament (May 3), which broke the school record for doubles in a season (17), which she tied last year.
- Sophomore Beth Berry finished the season ranked first on the team and in the GLIAC in batting average (.422), home runs (7) and RBI (38).
- Kashmerick and Berry were each named First Team All-GLIAC and First Team All-Region in 2002, while Berry was also named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
- Junior Connie Milroth was first on the team in wins (15) and freshman Lisa Gauthier was first on the team in ERA (1.09).
- WSU held a 5-10 record against opponents ranked in the top 25 this season.
- The Warriors finished first in the league in hitting with a .292 batting average, which was 15 points better than the next team.
