Berry Earns GLIAC Softball
Player of Week Honors

Beth BerryDetroit, Mich. – Sophomore Beth Berry (Blissfield) was named the GLIAC Softball Player of the Week, which was announced by the conference office on April 30. Berry went 7 for 8 with two home runs and 10 RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Lake Superior State last Friday (April 26).

Berry went 4 for 4 in game one with two homers, one double, three runs scored and seven RBI. Her second home run was a walk-off homer in the
bottom of the fifth inning. In game two, Berry went 3 for 4 with a double, one run and three RBI. She now leads the team and the GLIAC with a .417 batting average. She also leads Wayne State with six home runs and 33 RBI.


Wayne State Earns
No. 1 Seed in GLIAC Tournament

Detroit, Mich. – The Wayne State softball team will head into the GLIAC Tournament at Ashland on Friday-Saturday (May 3-4) as the No. 1 seed after posting a 12-2 league record (28-15 overall). The Warriors will play the winner of No. 8 seeded Saginaw Valley State versus No. 9 Ferris State at 11 a.m. on Friday.
