Three Warriors Earned All-GLIAC Honors

Mick PontusAt the 2001 Men's Tennis GLIAC Championship not only did the Warriors walk away with third place honors, three Wayne State players were honored to the All-GLIAC teams.

Junior Mike Davis (Farmington Hills, MI/Almont) and sophomore Rohan Singh (Dearborn, MI/Edsel Ford) were both named to the All-GLIAC First Team. Named to the All-GLIAC Second Team was junior Mick Pontus (Gibraltar, MI/Carlson).

For the year, the Warriors finished with an impressive record of 12-7 overall and 6-2 in the GLIAC under first year coach Rick Cummins. This is also the third year in a row that Wayne State finished in third place at the conference championships.

at GLIAC Championships

For the third straight season, the Wayne State men's tennis team finished in third place at the GLIAC Championships.

On Saturday, April 21, the Warriors defeated Michigan Tech, 8-1, to capture third place at this year's conference tournament.

For the season, Wayne State finished with a 12-7 overall record under first year head coach Rick Cummins.
