INDIANAPOLIS The Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee has announced the selection of its two additional regional hosts for the 2003 and 2004 championships. With the expansion of the field from 12 to 16 teams beginning in 2003, the committee needed to select two additional sites.
The Division I Championships/Competition cabinet approved the committee selections at its recent meeting in Indianapolis.
"We selected cities and sites that have a tradition of hosting successful events," said Jack McDonald, chair of the Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee and director of athletics at Quinnipiac University. "We are very excited and know they will do a great job."
The 2003 Northeast and West regions will be held March 28 and 29, while the East and Midwest regions will be held March 29 and 30. The 2003 Men's Frozen Four, which is already sold out, will be held April 10-12 at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York.

In 2004, the Northeast and West regions will be held March 26 and 27, while the East and Midwest regions will be held March 27 and 28. The 2004 Men's Frozen Four will be held April 8-10 at the FleetCenter in Boston.
Northeast:

Each site will host four schools with the winners of the first night of competition playing each other on the second day. Each of the four winners will advance to the Frozen Four. Game times for regional competition will be released at a later date.
