Warriors Open 2002 Season

The Wayne State University men's cross country team competed in the Mt. Van Hoevenburg Invitational in Lake Placid, New York, on Saturday, Aug. 31. No team scores were kept.

Sixth-year head coach Rick Cummins' squad was led by juniors Mike Buslepp (Warren, MI/Cousino) and Brian Goodwin (Dearborn Hts., MI/Annapolis), who both completed the 4.65 mile course in 25:02. Senior Ed Garza (Wyandotte, MI/Roosevelt) and freshmen Justin Kessler (Ionia, MI) both had a time of 25:35.

The remaining three runners were senior Ryan Molloy (Dearborn Hts., MI/Annapolis) in a time of 26:16, junior Charles Stamboulian (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) in a time of 28:08, and senior Josh Burt (Commerce, Mich./Livonia Franklin) in a time of 28:40.

The Warriors next race is Sept. 7 when they compete in the Tommy Titan Invitational.
