Stamboulian Verizon Academic All-District

Wayne State University sophomore cross country runner Charlie Stamboulian (Farmington Hills, MI) has been selected to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District IV College Division Men's Track/Cross Country Team.

Stamboulian, who carries a 3.97 in pre-medicine, was named to the district's second team.

He was previously named to the GLIAC All-Academic team for men's cross country. Stamboulian has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (term gpa of 3.50 or higher) all four semesters at WSU.

On the course, he placed 54th at the GLIAC Championship, 28th at the NCAA Regional and 102nd at the NCAA Championship. The Warriors men's cross country team won the 2001 GLIAC Championship, placed second at the regional and 11th at the national championships.
