Carol Krause Lausman Lausman earned four varsity womens softball letters in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984, and three varsity womens basketball letters in the 1979-80, 1980-81 and 1982-83 seasons. As a shortstop and a second baseman, Carol earned All-State honors in 1981 as well as being named Miller "Athlete of the Week." In 1982, Carol was named a Regional All-American and was named a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences First Team selection in 1984. In the 1983 season, Carol led the team in batting average (.349), RBI (28), triples (4) and stolen bases (4). Currently she is listed second on WSUs career list in triples with 14. Lausman graduated from Wayne State University in 1984 with a degree in Recreation. As she followed her husband and his military career, Carol has worked in Michigan for two years, California for six years and Maryland for more than three years as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. While she and her husband were stationed in Japan, Carol taught English at a Japanese school. Carol and her husband, David, reside in Kailau, Hawaii. David is also a part of the Wayne State family as he served as an athletic trainer from 1977 to 1981 and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Education in 1981. |
